Which early church father are you?
I'm not even sure who Origen is or what his positions were and since I have homework tonight I'm definitely not going to start reading the wiki about him.
![]() You’re Origen! You do nothing by half-measures. If you’re going to read the Bible, you want to read it in the original languages. If you’re going to teach, you’re going to reach as many souls as possible, through a proliferation of lectures and books. If you’re a guy and you’re going to fight for purity … well, you’d better hide the kitchen shears. Find out which Church Father you are at The Way of the Fathers! |
I'm not sure what this has to do with it either, but under the question "Your guilty pleasure:" I picked "Self-mutilation". =D

I always thought self-mutilation was more a St. Francis of Assisi thing? :P (forgive me)
I'll have to check it from home, it's blocked from my office. I'm hoping I'm more in-line with Thomas Aquinas, Erasmus, or Martin Luther. "intellectual rebel?" ...I'll check it later. :)
i got st jerome, apparently. from wikipedia:
He was surrounded by a circle of well-born and well-educated women, including some from the noblest patrician families, such as the widows Marcella and Paula, with their daughters Blaesilla and Eustochium. The resulting inclination of these women for the monastic life, and his unsparing criticism of the life of the secular clergy, brought a growing hostility against him amongst the clergy and their supporters. Soon after the death of his patron Damasus (December 10, 384), and having lost his necessary protection, Jerome was forced to leave his position at Rome following an inquisition of the Roman clergy into allegations that he had improper relations with the widow Paula.
I feel somewhat pleased.
Deckie, how on earth does the idea of being surrounded by wannabe nuns please you? =D
I guess all my favorite theologians aren't an option. No matter how I answer it, I consistently get St. Jerome or St. Justin Martyr.
On the other hand, you're right... R2 does mail. I had to snort when I saw the website. I can't exactly say I think of US Postal employees as "Jedi masters." Maybe if Jedis were slow, inept, and unable to perform any other function in society? :)
